In order to receive any type of government financial aid, students and parents need to fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

A few tips...

1. Make sure you have the correct website (
www.fafsa.ed.gov).
    There are scams that use similar websites.  
    The application is FREE so do not use a site that you have to pay.

2.  You will start the process by applying for your FSA ID on the FAFSA website (both student and parent need to apply for an ID).

3.  Apply EARLY!  Money is first come, first serve, so you don't want to wait until spring to file.  The window opens October 1 and the Missouri priority deadline is February 1.  Apply early!
